Tomatoes

Tomatoes need at least 6-8 hrs of sun a day to produce well. Provide well drained soil and plant in spring after danger of frost is past. Good soil is essential. Work organic compost into the soil until it's loose to a depth of at least 6-8 inches. Bury tomato stems up to the plant's second true set of leaves, digging a 10-18"hole. Roots will form at the buried stem.Space your plants at least 3-4 feet apart. Install support with wire cages or stakes at the center and around the plant.Keep tomatoes well watered and fertilize throughout the growing season. If leaves turn yellow, you are watering too much. Tomatoes will be ready to harvest in August and September.
